Discovering the secrets behind the iconic sound of "Spirit in the Sky" has been an exciting journey for me. After speaking with Norman Greenbaum, I learned that he had a Boss Tone circuit in his Telecaster, paired with a cranked-up Twin Reverb amplifier. However, my initial attempts to replicate that sound fell short. Through experimentation, I realized that a drained 9-volt battery could alter the circuit's tone. By testing lower voltages, I finally achieved a sound that closely resembles the classic track, and I couldn't be happier with the results!
